To start the 2022/23 season, Füchse Berlin are now officially certified and are embarking on a sustainability offensive to blaze an important new trail into the future. Their partner team “1. VfL Potsdam” is also part of the strategy. With the help of ClimatePartner, the market leader in climate protection for companies of any sector with more than 6,000 customers, they measured the carbon footprint of the various teams of Füchse Berlin and 1. VfL Potsdam from the 2021/22 season. The carbon emitted, primarily from travel, electricity/heating in training centers and business offices and waste, will be offset during the 2022/23 season with a certified climate protection project.

Christopher Jahns, Director of Sustainability and Development at Füchse Berlin: “The offsetting is just the beginning. This is the very first step, and now comes the real work. With the help of supporters and sponsors, we will steadily reduce our carbon emissions in the coming years, with the aim of making a major contribution to climate protection.”

The three-pillar model of sustainable development is based on the idea that sustainability can only be achieved by pursuing environmental, economic and social goals at the same time and on equal footing. That means it’s not just about environmental and climate protection, even if these goals take center stage because of their urgency.

Promoting young talent – shaping the future

Another secret to Füchse Berlin’s success on the handball court is their outstanding development of young talent. Having recognized the urgency of promoting the talent of tomorrow, they have laid the foundation for a sustainable club structure which can serve as a model for many other clubs and even companies.

The shortage of skilled workers is a reality in many industries, and the time has come to face it head on. Family company Kieback&Peter follows a clear philosophy: The person is at the center of everything.

This means not only finding and developing talented young people, but also offering them a working environment that meets their individual needs and ambitions.

THE BALL IS IN YOUR COURT!

At Kieback&Peter, you can launch your career while also helping to combat climate change. We are proud to be an exemplary and fair employer, as demonstrated by our multiple awards and recognitions. Become part of our team and help us build a sustainable future together.
